ATTENUATION TANK INFORMATION.
Noweth Meynek has a Sustainable Urban Drainage System as required by law for all new developments. The system is built to prevent overloading the general surface water drainage system capacity of Carbis Bay, and is designed to cope with a one in a hundred year flooding event. Part of the system includes attenuation tanks to store excess short term rainfall above the allowed discharge into the public surface water system. Noweth Meynek has three attenuation tanks. One is situated under the car park area used by numbers 20 to 29 Noweth Meynek, which collect surface water from the upper site. The remaining two take run off from the lower site. The first tank to be used in an extreme weather event is situated in the garden of No 2 Noweth Meynek. If that tank fills up, then the second tank in the garden of No 1 Noweth Meynek will start to fill. The tanks empty into the mains system.
The tank in the garden of No 1 is situated under the lawn to the NE of the property and measures 6.5m by 5m. It is covered by at least approximately 750mm of soil.
