St Ives December Events Timetable 2017

Sunday 19 and Sunday 26 November 10am
Lantern Making Workshop at the Drill Hall, Royal Square for all the family £5 per lantern. 10am start runs all day with all materials supplied.

Month long events shop window display competition with a theme of ‘the Nutcracker’. Judging will take place on Saturday 16 December, with the public vote running until the 30th December.
Town Treasure Hunt.  Find the clues hidden in shops all over town prizes galore! Closing date for entries 30th December.

Friday 1 December 6pm Etsy made Local Cornwall Fair in the Guildhall
Late night preview evening with free entry. A modern Christmas fair with live music and festive food and drink.

Saturday 2nd December – free parking all day at the Stennack Car Park
Super Saturday. Enjoy doing your Christmas shopping, take part in the competitions and join in with the festive vibe. Plus the ‘Busk Stop’, a busking /talent show in fore street during the daytime.
Father Christmas comes to town at 3pm Make sure you are there to greet Father Christmas when he arrives at the west pier by boat.
The Candy Land Christmas Grotto Salvation Army 3.30-5.30pm. Come and see Father Christmas in his grotto. Plus St Ives Mermaid will be there too. Entry to grotto £3 including gift.
The Christmas Parade 6pm. Join the amazing lantern parade starting at 6pm and parading through the streets. The route goes along Fore Street to the harbour, along Wharf Road, collecting Father Christmas from his grotto and making its way up to Royal Square.
The Christmas Lights Switch On 7pm. Entertainment from the Phoenix singer’s in the Royal Square.
Etsy made local Cornwall Christmas Fair 10am – 5pm at the Guildhall
Fair Mo 10am – 5pm St Ia Parish Church. This was originally a pig fair dating back to 1490
Kids R Us Bazaar 5pm – 8pm St Ives Theatre, the Stennack
History walk 12 noon with Tony Mason leaving from the Malakoff. Tickets £5 (all proceeds in support of the local St Ives archive)

Sunday 3rd December Etsy made Local Cornwall Christmas Fair 10am -5pm at the Guildhall

Saturday 9th December the St Ives Christmas Market by Saffron at the Guildhall with Grotto

Saturday 16 December Christmas Window Display Competition Judging Day with our special guest judge Bob Devereux on a walk around to see all the entries.
History walk 12noon £5 with Tony Mason leaving from the Malakoff

Thursday 21st December Christmas Farmers Market 930am – 2pm A special Christmas themed farmers market with seasonal local food and drink at the Guildhall.

Monday 25th December CHRISTMAS DAY

Tuesday 26 December BOXING DAY SWIM Porthminster Beach time 12 noon. Brave the waves or cheer on the swimmers at the Porthminster beach by joining the Boxing Day swim. Bacon butties and hot drinks available from the beach café.

Sunday 31 December History walk 12noon £5 with Tony Mason leaving from the Malakoff

New Year’s Celebrations St Ives biggest street party of the year. Fireworks from the harbour at midnight. Fireworks sponsored by St Ives bid.

Ever done New Year’s Eve in St Ives, the biggest street party of the year? Every year thousands of people descend on the streets of St Ives for one big fancy dress carnival. Everyone dresses for the occasion and midnight is marked with one of the best firework displays in Cornwall.
